What this does and doesn't do.
Director is previz. It's built to answer whether your coverage works, whether the blocking reads, and whether the cut has the right rhythm — not to produce broadcast footage.
Some specifics, so nothing surprises you at shot sixty:
- Lens and camera height are interpreted, not simulated. Ask for a 75mm and you'll get telephoto compression and shallow depth — the look, not the optics.
- Precise focus pulls don't execute from a prompt. We can approximate a rack in assembly, but it won't land exactly as written.
- A room drifts across many angles. Your cast stays consistent. The set is harder — uploading a real scout photo helps a lot, but a location shot from twelve angles will vary.
- Crowded dialogue scenes are the weakest case. Several people talking in one room is where the models struggle most. Wides and reactions hold up better than tight synced singles.
If a shot in your document asks for something we'll approximate, we flag that shot so you know before you draft it.
Questions.
Will it rewrite my script?
No. In document mode we never change your prose, dialogue, or shot descriptions. We structure them and generate the technical prompts that drive rendering — a separate layer from your writing.
Do I have to render finished video?
No. Most directors stop at the animatic and go shoot. Final render is a button you press only if you want it.
How many times can I revise?
As many as you want. There's no cap on edit passes and no charge for re-rolling a shot. Drafting is included in your plan.
What happens when a frame comes out wrong?
You re-roll it. It re-drafts, drops back into your cut, and costs you nothing.
What's a "draft shot"?
One rendered draft frame or clip. An 88-shot board is 88 draft shots for the first pass; re-rolls count as additional draft shots. Director includes 400/month, which covers roughly four full episodes of drafting; more are $0.50 each.
Can I use my own actors?
Yes — upload their headshots as character references. You'll be asked to confirm you have their permission.
Do characters stay consistent across episodes?
Yes, if you upload a series bible. Your characters and locations become part of the project and carry into every episode.
Can I use this commercially?
Yes. Everything you make is yours.
